Spring break!?

Holy cow, almost half the semester's gone already and spring break's about to be upon us. For the last couple years I went to different spots like Huntsville, Alabama and Marco Island in Florida. This year we kinda scaled down the epicness that is travel and decidedly take a trip to Chicago.

With me for the day trip is the Singaporean extraordinaire, Francois Shum; the young and budding Audio Engineer Laramie Huggins; and then the stunning photographer, Rachel Ellsworth.

Since it will take roughly six hours to drive over there, the plan is to immediately hit up a Chinese restaurant as soon as we get there.

Dim sum, private dining, and seasonal specials... Minghin has it all! They are probably one of the best in class as far as Cantonese cuisine goes in Chicago. And because we have Americans with us, we've got to see their first hand experience at trying out new foods such as the ever popular chicken feet, assorted Chinese rolls and foodstuff not normally seen on an American menu.

After that, we went for bubble tea. It is a sweet drink common throughout Asia. There's balls of tapioca that's mixed in a tea-based drink that can be either fruit or milk-flavored. My favorite is probably taro with coconut. The powdery flavor of the taro just mixes very well with the smooth texture of the coconut.

And of course, we went to visit the bean shaped object. The Willis Tower, and alongside that, we went to Lou Malnati's for deep dish that night.

That's all for this week.

Stay Classy.
