Maroon 5 tour
The line up
So I had a chance to hit up a stellar show this week. Maroon 5 with Rozzi Crane and Magic! over at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus. On top of that, I got to meet some pretty cool people as well after the show: the Front of House Engineer for Maroon 5 and the Lighting Designer. They, alongside the show with Maroon 5, made my night. Maroon 5 World Tour 2015 consist of three bands: Rozzi Crane, Magic! and the headlining band themselves: Maroon 5.
Rozzi Crane
I wasn't crazy about Rozzi. She is one of the artists that signed to Adam Levine's label at 222 Records. To her credit, she does have a killer voice and sang Christina Aguilera's part in "Move like Jagger." Her sounds were energetic and the crowd seemed to enjoy some young blood thrown into the mix of veteran touring musicians.
Magic!
Magic! by far was the most disappointing acts of the night. It's not that I don't like Reggae, but the fact that every single one of their songs sounds the same. After three-fourths way through their act, they finally decidedly to sing their hit single "Rude" which saved their show. But yeah . . . it was pretty bad.
Maroon 5
I gotta say, the difference between the Magic! and Maroon 5 is like night and day. The amount of showmanship involved, the knowledge of how to work the crowd, the mix of music in their setlist all proves that these five are seasoned veterans that can take on whatever comes their way. From "Animals" to their finale, "Sugar," the band have never ceased to excite me and give off a good vibe.
Here are an instagram that I have taken during the show:
Here's just a snippet of that amazing night.
Needless to say, everyone had a great time. Some of my favorites of that night are:
- Love Somebody - When the band all sang acapella together for the intro of the song.
- She Will Be Loved - An all time favorite with Adam and James Valentine doing an acoustic version.
- Sugar - Recent new hit, all time favorite right now.
To top off an already excellent night, I had the opportunity to network and connect with Maroon 5's Front of House Engineer and Lighting Designer. We got talking about gear and got along really well!
Check out when Maroon 5 is doing a show near you here.
That's all for now.
Stay Classy.
